This weekend has been great so far! I spent today shopping with my mum and found some awesome clothes in a thrift shop. Also saw this overpriced purse in this cute little shop, and I had to get it. My mum said, if you really love something, you must get it – you need to fill your life with things you love. I agree mum thank you. Last night spent some quality time with my boyfriend and am going to see him again now. So I better hurry up and get off here, otherwise he’ll be waaaaiting! haha luv u all!
oh oh and the weather was BEAUTIFUL today, I’m so happy!
While I was searching for my Olivia Newton-John images for the previous ‘Jolene’ collage, I saw photos of her from GREASE and I just thought, I have to do a post on this awesome movie.
GREASE is one of my all time favourites! I love the humour, music, fashion, realism and the storyline. I love how Sandy is miss goody two shoes and then turns into queen of sexyness who is not so ‘innocent’ any more. Kinda like me
Some memorable lines from the movie…
[first lines] Sandy: I’m going back to Australia; I might never see you again. Danny: Don’t… don’t talk that way, Sandy. Sandy: But it’s true! I’ve just had the best summer of my life, and now I have to go away. It isn’t fair.
[Danny starts kissing her] Sandy: Danny, don’t spoil it! Danny: It’s not spoiling it, Sandy, it’s only making it better. Sandy: Danny… is this the end? Danny: Of course not; it’s only the beginning.
Danny: Oh, bite the weenie, Riz. Rizzo: With relish.
Frenchy: Doody, how do I look? Doody: Like a beautiful blonde pineapple!
Did you ever watch GREASE more than once? Maybe a hundred times like me? To the point where you even know what they will say next?
At work my colleagues have been playing over and over the song ‘Jolene‘. It’s a great song and they also do it as a laugh cause that’s my name – but spelt differently – Joelyne.
I must say that I really do like my name. I’ve always been proud of it, cause here in Sydney it’s so unique!!! (not sure about the name popularity in America where it originated from).
My parents got the name from Olivia Newton-John’s song ‘Jolene.’ I haven’t actually heard that version yet, but I have heard the version by Dolly Parton, who it was written and performed by.
I’ve always wondered how it originated and came across this from babynames.com:
The meaning of the name Jolene is a Combination Of Jo And Eileen. The origin of the name Jolene is American.
And this from babynameaddicts.com
Jolene Increasing Torch Modern English
From Jo, meaning God Will Increase Old English
From Lena, meaning Torch Scandinavian
Quite interesting!
Do you like your name? Does it have a meaning? And where did it originate???
I managed to squeeze some more creativity out of myself today. Here is a collage of my two favourite colour combinations – pink & green. What do you think of the colours together? Do they go well?
I felt creative today and decided to do a little collage for you all I’ve been noticing Kate’s style ever since I watched Bride Wars. Wasn’t that a great movie? I would really love to accomplish the 3rd look from the collage above. Here in Sydney it’s getting colder So we’ve gotta prepare!
If i have enough creativity left for today I might just do another collage
Thanks for reading and hope wherever you are in the world you enjoy the weather – whether it’s hot, cold, rainy or dry!

today i received the scanner i bid on and i absolutely love it.
was looking through some old photos of my mum and found these and
HAD to scan them and share them with you all.
Whenever i do my makeup, i try to find a photo of a celebrity that i can
get the look from. a lot of the time it’s beyonce knowles because she has
a dark complexion like me. i know i wanted to put on some fake eyelashes
and do my hair slicked back, so i browsed the web and found this photo
of beyonce.
Basically i used some black shimmery eyeshadow over the eyelid and a bit
underneath. also smudged black eyeliner to get a darker black colour. stuck
on my fave fake eyelashes which I am getting better at putting on and
smacked on some MAC nude lip gloss. used a round bristle brush on my hair
with maximum hold hairspray, twirled my pony tail in my fingers!
