Sick today. Boohoo…

Day off work, so I spent all day resting on my couch with my trusted MAC & Foxtel. Also did some journal writing, and jotted down some short term to-do’s which were to reply to emails, look for inspiring blogs and leave comments on them

I’ve also created some new photography goals for myself which I’ll share shortly. The main one is to take my SLR with me everywhere. Now that I have a new camera lens, I’m really inspired to take heaps of shots in manual mode. Couldn’t really do that much with the standard 18-55mm lens, except for indoors in controlled lighting. Hoping to take photos every day, pick my favourite one for each day and share it here on the blog. The above photo is my favourite photo from today, as it showcases exactly what my day was filled with, and I love that magenta scarf to death.

My mum and brother Steve brought by some home made soup for me. So sweet. Times like these, I really get a chance to reflect and appreciate the great people and things in my life. Sometimes being sick can be a good thing.

Yes, I’m using toilet paper as tissues! Anyone else do that?

NEW LENS! YEAH BUDDY! No editing whatsoever. Not sure what that green light is on my tights. Where did it come from? Mystery! Went for a lovely coffee in Pyrmont today, and while we were there took some photos with my NEW CAMERA LENS! So excited!!! $800 worth of lens, but well worth it I reckon! <3

This last photo is SO us! George loves making faces, and pretending he doesn’t like my kisses. Deep down he absolutely loves it. He makes me laugh. This year, will be our 5 years together. We’re going on a trip to Greece together in 4 weeks. When I’m with him, I feel at home.

Now, about my awesome new camera lens. I have a Canon EOS 450 D. On this camera, a 35mm lens is like a 50mm lens. (as explained by our awesome photographer friend Angelo Sgambati, who was shooting America’s Next Top Model recently). For the last 4 years, I have been shooting with the standard lens which came with the camera – an 18-55mm.

I thought it was about time I treat myself to a new lens. I ended up with a SIGMA 35mm 1.4 lens. I LOVE IT. SO MUCH. As you can tell

I really don’t like my skinny waist in some dresses, so I added a belt and pulled some of the material upwards and over the belt, which creates more of  fuller looking waist! Love this dress. Wore it today with tights, boots, a cardi and jacket. Versatile for winter or summer

I’m going to Greece soon! FIVE weeks to go! Got a friend’s wedding in Mykonos (PARTY TIME) then lots of relaxation!!! (with my man)

I look forward to beautiful breakfasts, crepes with banana and delectable melted chocolate, home made chips with Greek salad and marinated octopus.  And , of course, the daily Frappe. The last time I went, which was in 2010, George’s mum would always make me a Frappe or a freshly squeezed juice in the morning. SO GOOD!

Travelling for me is therapy. It revitalises me. I wish I could do it more often, don’t we all. Maybe I can, just need to plan better. Even weekends away more often would be amazing.

I look forward to being inspired. Seeing the world from a different perspective.

1. A-Line Dress: 60′s “it” girls Twiggy, Penelope Tree, Edie Sedgwick & Jackie O sported one.

2. Ballet Flat: Chic & Timeless. Think Bridget Bardot & Audrey Hepburn. These are a wardrobe must have.

3. Aviators: My favourite kind of sunglass style. They are way cool and

5.Black opaque tights: Can’t get enough of them in Autumn and Winter. It’s that time of year. Gotta stock up!

6. Cable Knit Sweater: I love my cotton selection of cable knit jumpers (sorry, I’m not american and cannot say sweater ) So comfie. So warm. So always in style. Classic.

7.Havainas: Thongs/Flipflops. Can’t live without them in Summer.

9. Jeans: I was trying to pick an outfit to wear out one weekend, and my mum said to me. Just wear Jeans. Whenever in doubt, pick Jeans. Great advice Mum!

Love this feature! Do think my simpsons cartoon character should have  a tad darker skin, but hey, I’ve been made into a cartoon character. I can’t complain! I work a 35 hour week, but I guess my blog work in the evenings counts as well (Even though it’s a hobby!)
