I’m learning embroidery on my lunch breaks!
One of my work colleagues, Melanie Robson, was wearing a stunning outfit once and she told me she actually made it. That same day I went and bought a sewing machine and enrolled in a sewing course. Talk about inspired, or what!
Mel loves being creative and shared with me how much she enjoys embroidery. I was amazed when I saw her beautiful work. See below! Isn’t it gorgeous?
She shared with me this story, which I thought was pretty incredible. A lady she met on a train one day who she saw daily was embroidering something, and fascinated, she sparked up a conversation with her. This lady began to teach her how to do embroidery on the train!
So Mel is now an expert. She is so kind. One day she brought in some material and thread to show me how to do a few stitches. Now it has turned into a mini class with me and a few other colleagues, once a week on a lunch break. Below are some of the stitches I’ve learnt so far! I’m so excited about learning this new creative art and so grateful to her. She’s a wonderful and patient teacher. The hour goes by so quickly because we are having so much fun!
