For years I dreamed of going to the gym, eating healthy and being fit. I had a few failed attempts of joining gyms and not sticking to the routine. I tried reformer pilates for 6 months on and off but it wasn’t the right fit for me so I stopped. I was really dissapointed. I really wanted to fulfil this goal, but it just seemed out of reach.

It got to a point where I was feeling lethargic all the time. Mentally and physically I felt crappy. I knew I had to make a change.

It was so daunting, the prospect of making a change. I didn’t think I could do it. I was convinced I couldn’t. It was so out of my comfort zone. I was truly afraid to take the first step.

But with encouragement from my boyfriend, I made an appointment with a personal trainer at a gym near my workplace.

And then it just all happened. All it took was that one step, and the rest after that was nowhere near as hard as I thought it would be to keep it up.

I decided I’d only do one 30 min session a week. Knowing it was only 30 minutes, took the pressure off.  I’ve been going consistently for 6 months now,  on my lunch breaks. My trainer is awesome. She makes it fun, even though it’s soooo hard. After each session I feel like I’ve accomplished so much.

Sometimes, something so out of your comfort zone that you’d really like to try can seem like a huge mountain to climb. But, if you take tiny steps, trust me,  you can do it!

I must say, it does help to have inspiring  and encouraging people around you. My boyfriend and my manager are both experienced when it comes to being fit and healthy and they have given me so much support on this journey. I am truly grateful.

I now feel energetic and happy. I’m so so happy and proud of myself for doing this for my health and well-being.
