I’ve just upped my gym training sessions to twice a week.

That’s a huge step for me.

Last year my word for the year was ENERGY. My mission was to have a year filled with enthusiasm, energy, and exercise. And that, I did! I never thought I could do it, but I started the gym, and actually followed through, for 6 months.

Every week has consisted of a 30 minute, intensive session with a personal trainer which included weight training and cardio. What helped me most, was knowing that I had to meet my trainer at a certain time. I felt like I couldn’t let us both down. She is fun and encouraging – but doesn’t let me get away with it. She will push me to my limits, and I like that. (even though I whinge to her that it’s too hard! – with some naughty words in between.)

Now that I’ve built my confidence and strength, I’ve decided to do 2 sessions a week. Seriously, I never thought I could do it. It’s a huge accomplishment for me.

Tomorrow I’m going to share the steps I took to finally start my fitness journey. How scared and afraid I was, and why I suddenly bit the bullet and made a change.
